Honda believes that HBCUs play a unique and critical role in providing higher education and opportunities for advancement to the Black community. Because of Honda's relationship and commitment to Black colleges and universities, the decision to partner with 58 HBCUs on a COVID-19 relief initiative in 2020 was an easy one. With redirected funds from the canceled 2020 Honda Campus All-Star Challenge, Honda donated $325,000 that participating HBCUs directed to serve 108 organizations in 20 states. Over the past 30 years, Honda initiatives have impacted the lives of more than 200,000 students and resulted in over $14 million in grants in support of HBCUs.
